Who do you help?

Motif Planning provides financial planning to everyone in the music industry including freelance musicians, composers, producers, songwriters, arrangers, DJs, Music directors, voice-over artists, broadway pit musicians, orchestral and choral musicians, church musicians, military musicians, studio musicians, buskers, cruise ship performers, educators, professors, recording professionals, music therapists, audiologists, sound designers, hobbyists, industry executives, front of house and monitor mixers, stage managers, tour managers, artist managers, business managers, entertainment attorneys, concert promoters, publicists, marketing managers, artist coaches and publishing administrators.

What am I committing to?

This process takes genuine effort from both parties. Be prepared to find all relevant documents to help develop your plan. Planning engagements begin on the 1st of the month and are cancellable with 30 days notice. No questions asked.

What do meetings look like?

All meetings are virtual. We have 3 – 4 meetings initially to create your plan and agree on what to tackle first. Then we have semi-annual meetings to update your plan. We are your accountability partner to help stay on track toward artistic freedom. Reach out as life changes to schedule a video call.

Do you manage or take custody of my investments?

Motif Planning does not manage or take custody of your investments. We provide comprehensive analysis, advice and monitoring then show you how to manage your money.

Do you sell products or make commissions?

No. As a fiduciary we always act in your best interest. Motif Planning is strictly paid from the flat fee we agree upon.

How do I pay?

Secure payments are made using AdvicePay with a credit card or direct deposit. There is no additional charge for using a credit card. Motif Planning will not collect your confidential payment information.

Where do I upload documents?

You will access to RightCapital to securely combine your financial information in one place. Including a mobile app.
